Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage in Cincinnati
A gentle, restorative treatment to reduce swelling, boost immunity, and support post-op recovery.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a light, rhythmic therapy that stimulates the lymphatic system to support the body’s natural detoxification process. This technique, rooted in European clinical practice, is ideal for clients navigating surgical recovery, autoimmune conditions, hormone shifts, inflammation, and fatigue—or simply seeking a quieter, more grounded path to wellness.

What is it?
MLD uses slow, intentional strokes that follow the body’s lymphatic pathways to gently move stagnant fluid and encourage optimal flow. It is not a massage, nor is it meant to sculpt the body. Instead, this treatment works with the body’s parasympathetic nervous system,
supporting calm, repair, and release.
At node & needle, MLD is offered as a standalone session or as part of a personalized care plan. For post-surgical clients seeking consistent results and smoother recovery, we recommend reserving a series of sessions. These packages allow for continuity of care, optimal timing, and deeper therapeutic outcomes tailored to the body’s healing process.
Results you can see and feel.

Who is MLD for?
Manual Lymphatic Drainage may be ideal for you if you’re navigating:
Surgical recovery from required procedures to elective treatments
Autoimmune conditions such as POTS or rheumatoid arthritis
Chronic inflammation or fluid retention
Hormonal shifts including peri/menopause or cycle-related swelling
GLP-1 medication side effects such as puffiness or sluggish detox
Low immunity or frequent illness
Prenatal and postnatal wellness needs
High stress, burnout, or nervous system dysregulation
Our approach to Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Your session begins with a conversation about your symptoms, goals, and underlying conditions. Treatment is always customized to your current needs, whether you’re seeking whole-body care or focused support in the face, abdomen, or lower limbs.
Carrie Riley is certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage through MLD Institute International and the Academy of Lymphatic Studies (ACOLS), with additional training in fibrosis prevention, optimal blending of complementary modalities, and trauma-informed care. Her sessions combine evidence-based technique with intuitive touch to create a space of both physiological restoration and emotional calm.

What to expect
MLD sessions are performed on a flat table with no bolster under the knees, allowing for optimal flow. Prenatal and post-surgical clients can expect soft bolsters and table positioning appropriate to your needs. You’ll remain draped and comfortably positioned throughout, with soft lighting and quiet space to support your body’s return to balance.
Unlike traditional massage, there are no deep strokes or pressure points. The movements are feather-light, yet highly effective, stimulating lymphatic flow without overstimulating the nervous system.

After your session, it’s common to feel lighter, clearer, and more grounded. Many clients report reduced puffiness, improved digestion, deeper sleep, and a noticeable sense of internal calm. While the touch is gentle, the impact is profound, supporting both the body’s physiological balance and its capacity for renewal.
